Tamar Kupiec is a freelance writer based in Washington State, covering educational and environmental issues. She came by way of New York City, where she earned a master’s in creative writing from The New School, received a New York Foundation for the Arts fellowship in nonfiction writing, and worked as a writer in residence in the New York City public schools.
